Another revised charter is issued to change the name of the Local to “Drivers, Clerks, Office, Warehousemen and Allied Employees.”
May of 1966
Local 916 purchases land and an existing building at 2701 No. Dirksen Parkway in Springfield for $75,000. The new location allowed for additional space for the rapidly growing Local.
The Hall was dedicated on September 11th, 1966. The grand opening was October 8, 1966. The bronze dedication plaque, with the names of the Executive Board and Building Committee is still on the building today.
Another bronze plaque hangs next to it, rededicating the building to the memory of the great Teamsters president Jimmy Hoffa.

1967
An agreement with segments of the construction industry adds Central States Pension membership as a benefit. Any construction driver working at the time of the organizing receives all past service credit in construction.
